Our story
We brought our passion for pancakes from Belgium to New Zealand over 20 years ago and have been perfecting our craft ever since. We now produce and deliver light and fluffy pancakes all over the world!
A move to New Zealand
When our founders, Marcel and Ingrid, moved from Belgium to New Zealand they saw a gap in the market when they couldn't find a decent crepe or pancake. They started to make their own and sent samples of their delicious products to various businesses. The feedback was positive! So they decided to take the plunge and start up a pancake business in New Plymouth.
Let there be pancakes!
Van Dyck Fine Foods was established in 2000, which sold pancakes, crepes and blinis to food service businesses. In 2017 the Marcel's Pancakes brand was established which can be found in supermarkets around the world.
From traditional Belgian recipes inspired by Marcel’s mother, to new flavours such as chocolate chip and blueberry, the business grew and so did the world’s appetite for our light and fluffy pancakes!
